
Pastor Dr. Fredrick Johnson
Dr. Fredrick Johnson is senior pastor at First Genesis Baptist Church a growing and dynamic ministry that has
adopted the themes from Matt 6:33: “Making Disciples for the Kingdom” and “A Church on the move with God’s Vision in Hand”. He has participated in every facet of church ministry as prophet and priest with a passion for evangelism, teaching, preaching and community building. He is an visionary and servant leader that believes in the infallible word of God, power of the Holy Spirit, the sovereignty of God’s eternal promise and that Jesus is Lord. Under his pastoral leadership the First Genesis Baptist Church has experienced membership and spiritual growth.
As part of the extended ministries of First Genesis, Dr. Johnson is the Chairman & CEO for Genesis Community Development Corporation and President of the Genesis Leadership Institute accredited through the National Baptist Congress.
Dr. Johnson has over twenty years of experience in the private sector working for multinational corporations and past CEO for South West Area Development Corporation. He is board member of the Greater Rochester Housing Partnership (GRHP) and Anthony Jordan Health Center Community Council. He has been recognized by the Rochester Business Journal “40 under 40”, Dr. Samuel McCree Community Service Award, National Black Master Business Administration Association and Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity Inc.
Dr. Johnson serves as an advisor to the Northeastern Seminary Clergy Council and provides consulting for the Doctor of Ministry program at Northeastern Seminary. He is active in the North East Area Community Council and the Rochester City School District (RCSD) School #6 Reading Program.
Dr. Johnson has earned Bachelors of Science from Delaware State University and Masters in Business Administration (MBA) from Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT). Theologically and Biblically he has earned his Masters of Divinity and Doctorate of Ministry from Northeastern Theological Seminary at Roberts Wesleyan College.
Most importantly, Dr. Johnson, is a native of Brooklyn, New York. He is married to Evangelina (Gail) Johnson, his childhood sweetheart. Gail is an educator in the Rochester City School District. Together they have been married for nineteen years and have three children; daughters Jasmine and Brandy; and son Fred Jr.
